3	Repurposing Workshop: Making T-Shirt Yarn \| 10am-12.30pm \| Exeter Hall (OA5 1AB) – Waste Innovation Station have been putting on these repurposing workshops. Come and learn how to make yarn from T-Shirts!
4	St Mary’s Fields Work Party \| Sat 4th Feb, 10am-12pm \| St Mary’s carpark (OX52AZ) – Join the team of volunteers working on some Spring tasks to encourage nature. Also enjoy a well-earned slice of Julia or Rosie’s homemade cake at half time!
10	Repurposing Workshop: T-Shirt Yarn Macrame \| 10am-12.30pm \| Exeter Hall (OA5 1AB) – A chance to create with T-Shirt yarn!
11	Eco Speed Dating \| 11th Feb, 5-7pm \| Exeter Hall (OA5 1AB) – You’re invited to a FREE Eco Speed Dating activity in Kidlington! There will be delicious Climatarian food, fun games, activities, and good conversation. Invite your friends and sign up here.

1	Kidlington Gardening Society: ‘Death in the Garden’ \| Weds 1st Mar, 7.30pm \| Exeter Hall, small hall (OA5 1AB) – Author and Speaker Michael Brown will be sharing about poisonous plants and their use throughout history!
2	Nature Themed Activities (Teacher Strike) \| Thurs 2nd Mar, 9am-5pm \| Exeter Hall (OA5 1AB) – Kids on your hands because of the teachers’ strike? Looking for a homeschooling outing? Well come on down and join us for some fun nature themed activities: arts, crafts, and fun!

25	Earth Hour and Nature Walk \| Sat 25 March, 8:30-9.30 pm \| St Mary’s carpark (OX52AZ) TBC – Join Wild Kidlington and others around the globe in switching off all your lights for an hour, and while you’re at it why not join us for a nature walk over St Mary’s Fields, culminating with a hot chocolate round a fire pit!

Some Headlines since the last update…

Carbon Cost of Food Week – Cherwell Collective kickstarted this national campaign which ran from 23 – 29th Jan to try to encourage awareness of the hidden carbon cost to our consumer lifestyles and throwaway culture. How would do feel and act differently when see the cost of our meal out expressed in terms of its carbon footprint / road miles rather than in pounds?

Unwanted Gifts Exchange – On Sat the 28th Jan, Waste Innovation Station Headquarters (WISH) hosted an unwanted gift exchange, a fun event to tackle the whopping problem of unwanted gifts. Around 5% of unwanted gifts so straight into landfill with passing go. Exchanging unwanted gifts is one way they’re seeking to build a circular economy.
Congratulations to Kidlington Baptist Church for achieving their silver eco church award through A Rocha’s accreditation scheme. Kidlington Methodist Church also achieved the award last year. The survey provides a helpful framework for making progress in 5 key areas: worship & teaching, buildings, land, community & global engagement, and lifestyle.
