| Abundance Apple Pressing | Sat 3rd Oct, 10am-12pm | North Kidlington Primary School (OX5 2DA) – Join Kidlington Abundance as we celebrate the abundance of the natural world. Bring your surplus apples and pears*. Help chop, scrat, press and bottle the juice. If you don’t have any fruit – don’t worry! Just come and join in the fun. Everyone takes home some juice! *Fruit does not have to be in perfect condition (windfalls are fine). | |
Community Connections Fair | Sat 3rd Oct, 2pm-5pm | Exeter Hall, small hall (OX5 1AB) – Join us for tea, cake and community connections! Kidlington Town Council are holding this Community Connections Fair to bring together local community groups, charities, voluntary organisations and recruitment opportunities to showcase the fantastic work taking place across Kidlington.Come along to Exeter Hall on Saturday 3 October and discover how you can connect with local organisations, groups and activities for all ages – from young to old. With over 20 stalls already booked, there’ll be plenty of opportunities to find out what’s happening in your local community, meet new people and perhaps discover something you didn’t know was right on your doorstep! | ⑦ | Screening of the People’s Emergency Briefing | Wednesday 7th Oct, 7pm | Kidlington Baptist Church, High Street, OX5 2DS – Free event, organised by Kidlington Climate Action Group, all welcome. This is part of a national campaign organised by National Emergency Briefing. The aim is to inform and inspire conversation about what climate changes mean where we live and what we can do together to address them. Please reserve tickets here. |
| Kidlington Gardening Society Talk | Weds 7th Oct, 7.30pm | Exeter Hall, small hall (OX5 1AB) – We will be joined by a speaker from the mental health charity Restore talking about their work. Members are free, non-members £3. More info here! | |
| ⑧ | Woodland Trust Stratfield Brake Task Group | Thurs 8th Oct, 10am-1pm | Stratfield Brake, Frieze Way (OX5 1UP) – Sign up to help carry out a variety of practical tasks under the guidance of the Woodland Trust Site Manager, to keep the site looking great and pathways accessible, as well as help manage the woodland in line with management plans. A great way to learn skills and meet new people, the Working Group also directly contributes to the care and upkeep of valuable habitats. Volunteers need to sign up via the Woodland Trust volunteers page here. |

A short talk and Q&A is followed by an expedition to go track some down with bat detectors!
